Job Overview

As a Carpenter at Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island, a luxury resort located on Saadiyat Island's pristine beach in Abu Dhabi, you'll be essential in maintaining and enhancing the hotel's woodwork and furnishings across guest rooms, public areas, and operational spaces. You'll work collaboratively with maintenance and housekeeping teams to deliver timely repairs and renovations while upholding the safety and aesthetics of wooden structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and install wooden fixtures such as furniture, doors, windows, and cabinetry throughout the property.
• Conduct regular maintenance to preserve the condition and safety of wooden elements.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and related materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Customize furniture and fixtures to meet the hotel’s design standards and functional requirements.
• Work closely with other departments to quickly address repair requests.
• Inspect wooden installations for damage or degradation and advise on repairs or replacements.
• Adhere to safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
• Keep carpentry tools and materials organized for efficient operations.
• Support renovation and refurbishment initiatives by installing or restoring wooden components.
• Collaborate with contractors or suppliers for specialized carpentry needs when necessary.

Candidate Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry is preferred.
• Demonstrated carpentry experience, preferably within commercial or hospitality industries.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, assembling wood and complementary materials.
• Skilled and safe use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings accurately.
• Understanding of relevant building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations in hospitality settings.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Physically capable of manual activities like lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well with maintenance and other hotel departments.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and respond promptly to urgent repair needs.
