Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Porth, South Wales. This full-time, permanent role involves managing the daily accounts operations with a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will be methodical, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining precise financial records.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily accounts function and ensure smooth operation.
- Maintain and manage purchase and sales ledgers accurately.
- Handle invoice processing, payments, and bank reconciliations.
- Track cash flow and support credit control efforts when necessary.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related information to external accountants.
- Keep financial records precise and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance and timely updates of financial documentation.
- Provide additional bookkeeping and financial support as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in bookkeeping roles is required.
- Proven expertise in the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping standards and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Skilled in managing purchase and sales ledgers.
- Experience in payroll administration and coordinating with external accountants.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of independently managing workload.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Attributes
- Possession of an AAT certification or equivalent experience-based qualification.
- Experience working in the construction sector.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms.

- Annual salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.
