Role summary
The Bellman will be one of the first team members guests meet, helping shape a smooth and memorable arrival and departure experience. This position involves porterage support, guest assistance, coordination with front-office colleagues, and keeping the entrance area running to service standards.
Key responsibilities
- Greet guests and residents in a courteous, polished manner and guide them with directions or suggestions about hotel facilities.
- Handle baggage carefully by assisting with receiving, storing, securing, and moving luggage in line with hotel procedures.
- Support the arrival and departure process by working in sync with the doorman and reception teams.
- Oversee valet parking flow, taxi movement, and hired-car coordination based on the property’s procedures and priorities.
- Respond quickly to guest questions and issues, and escalate security matters or complaints to the Duty Manager when needed.
- Keep the hotel entrance and driveway operations aligned with established service expectations and ethical standards.
- Help promote hotel outlets and internal facilities to improve the guest experience and encourage additional sales.
- Follow workplace safety and health rules in every task performed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver efficient, personalized service.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information at all times.
- Take on other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in the hotel sector.
- Strong people skills and a service-oriented approach.
- Ability to identify guest and colleague needs and respond appropriately.
- Capability to train, encourage, and work well within a unified team.
- Detail-focused mindset with a welcoming and approachable attitude.
- Comfortable working under pressure while assessing situations and solving problems professionally.
- Good planning and prioritization skills for daily assignments.
- Self-driven with initiative in a fast-changing environment.
