Why This Role Matters
The Manager, Insights is an individual contributor role focused on producing market, competitive, and future-oriented analysis that shapes business strategy and innovation. The position covers the full insight lifecycle, from market scanning and scenario development to executive-ready recommendations.
Working with senior leaders across Commercial, Strategy, and Innovation, this role acts as a trusted advisor by identifying emerging opportunities, guiding innovation direction, and turning market changes into practical concepts and investment recommendations. The goal is to help SATS understand current market conditions while also anticipating how the business can stay relevant and competitive going forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Own market and competitive intelligence for both Gateway Services and Food Solutions, including analysis of customers, competitors, airline outsourcing trends, and airport operating dynamics to support commercial decisions, pricing, and market entry or exit assessments.
- Convert data, trends, and signals into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders, including support for quarterly business reviews, strategy reviews, and leadership discussions.
- Build, improve, and maintain intelligence tools such as dashboards, trackers, and insight summaries to keep business information current, reliable, and useful.
- Handle urgent and high-priority analysis requests, including partnership assessments, competitor responses, and other strategic initiatives, while still developing longer-term insight capabilities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Economics, Strategy, or Analytics.
- A master’s qualification such as an MBA, MSc in Analytics, or MSc in Economics is preferred.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in insights, innovation, or corporate strategy roles that support senior leadership.
- Strong command of both primary and secondary research techniques.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across insights, strategy, commercial, innovation, and data analytics functions in a corporate setting.
- Experience in defining, assessing, and managing external consulting or research partners.
- Comfort working with and interpreting large internal and external datasets.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI tools used for faster secondary research, literature synthesis, and horizon scanning.
- Strong capability in data visualization and presentation, with the ability to turn complex findings into clear stories for executive audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive report writing.
- Working knowledge of strategic frameworks such as PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and scenario analysis.
