About the Team - Yard Operations

The Yard Operations team plays a crucial role in conducting hundreds of live auctions worldwide annually. This dynamic group includes equipment inspectors, yard managers, operators, administrative staff, and customer service professionals, all contributing to the success of high-value auctions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Attendant who thrives working outdoors, is detail-conscious, speedy in task execution, and has a passion for vehicles. Safety is paramount while ensuring smooth and prompt yard operations. This frontline role involves embracing new technology and tools central to the auction industry's advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and organize information for vehicles assigned to the facility during check-in.
• Meticulously detail vehicles to enhance their visual appeal and auction value; training is provided.
• Safely operate passenger vehicles, moving them within the facility and aiding drive-through auctions.
• Retrieve and properly store keys, license plates, and other vehicle-related materials at the branch.
• Assist visitors with directions and refer them to appropriate personnel for further help.
• Participate in on-the-job training for operating forklifts and loaders.

Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent and be capable of fulfilling the physical demands involved, as this position is not desk-based. A positive, friendly attitude ensuring excellent customer interactions is essential. General mechanical knowledge or interest in cars is advantageous. A valid driver's license and legal authorization to drive are required for this role.

Preferred experience includes basic automotive repair skills or backgrounds in rental or construction sectors. Experience in equipment rental, construction, or related industries is a plus.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Consistent use of safety protocols and personal protective gear (e.g., gloves, glasses) to protect assets and self.
• Ability to recognize and respond suitably to unsafe situations and potential accidents.
• Adherence to regulations for handling hazardous materials.
• Physical capability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to and beyond 100 lbs.
• Regularly perform movements such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
• Work primarily outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
• Maintain vigilance for hazards related to heavy machinery and vehicle operations within the work environment.

Working Conditions

• Primarily outdoor work exposed to all weather types.
• Constant alertness required due to operating heavy equipment and vehicles nearby.
