Worship Pastor

Position Overview

Calvary Baptist Church is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Worship Pastor to shepherd its worship ministry, ensuring it remains biblically rooted, Christ-focused, and in harmony with the church's mission and vision. This leadership role will guide and inspire congregational worship via strategic service planning, musical direction, volunteer mentorship, and close partnership with the Senior Pastor.

Primary Duties

• Organize and lead engaging worship services that align with the Senior Pastor’s thematic direction and sermons.
• Foster a worship environment centered on Christ that promotes spiritual maturity alongside genuine humility and sincerity.
• Recruit, train, and nurture volunteers including musicians and audio/visual team members.
• Promote involvement of youth and children in the worship ministry.
• Create song selections, music charts, lyric sheets, and media materials for weekly rehearsals and services; conduct rehearsals every week.
• Lead worship during Sunday services and coordinate music for special occasions like holidays, weddings, and funerals as required.
• Manage the church’s online service broadcasts to ensure clarity, professionalism, and a warm virtual experience.
• Maintain and organize the church's music library and worship resources.
• Collaborate with the audio/visual team to deliver high-quality worship services.
• Undertake additional responsibilities corresponding to personal gifts and the church’s evolving requirements.

Qualifications

• A strong personal relationship with Christ and adherence to the current Baptist Faith & Message.
• Fulfillment of biblical criteria for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
• Dedication to the church’s mission and vision.
• Proficient vocal leadership in congregational worship; playing instruments is advantageous.
• Previous experience leading worship in a blended church setting.
• Capability to disciple, guide, and empower worship volunteers.
• Familiarity with audio mixing, presentation software, and worship planning tools such as Planning Center or equivalents.
• Possession of a bachelor's degree or relevant ministry training in worship; comparable ministry experience will be considered.
