Workday Finance Consultant

Role Overview

PwC Service Delivery Center is looking for a Workday Finance Consultant to join its team in India. This position is based across Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Gurugram with a hybrid work arrangement.

Experience and Certification

This role requires 4 to 10 years of experience. A Workday Finance certification is mandatory, specifically in P2P or R2R, and an active Workday Finance certification is preferred.

Functional Scope

The consultant will be expected to bring strong expertise across Workday Financials, including Record to Report and Contracts to Cash. The role calls for practical experience in core finance processes, configuration work, issue resolution, and client-facing design discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to full implementations or substantial work in Financial Accounting, Common Financial Management, Banking and Settlement, and/or Customer Accounts.
• Support multiple Workday projects while applying prior hands-on consulting experience.
• Identify automation opportunities and recommend process improvements across finance operations and reporting.
• Work across several Workday Finance areas such as Financial Accounting, Common Financial Management, Customers, Customer Accounts, Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, and Projects.
• Lead or participate in client design sessions and configure finance solutions, including FDM structures, business processes, validation rules, and condition rules.
• Create and troubleshoot EIBs to support data integration and process execution.
• Assist customers in resolving functional problems that require deep Workday solution knowledge.
• Use advanced knowledge of Workday security, calculated fields, custom reporting, and notification setup.
• Understand and apply different Workday data sources effectively.
• Review Workday release notes and assess the impact of product updates on existing client configurations.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Active certification in Workday Financials Record to Report or Contracts to Cash.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Workday Finance modules and configuration.
• Experience with FDM setup and business process configuration.
• Ability to build validation and condition rules.
• Practical experience with EIB development and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Workday security, calculated fields, and advanced reporting.
• Familiarity with customer issue handling and functional support.
• Ability to evaluate release impacts and maintain solution alignment.
• Experience with Customer Central for configuration and migration is a plus.
• Additional certifications in Reporting, FDM, or other Record to Report, P2P, or Order to Cash areas are preferred.
