Well Test Operator

Job Overview

The Well Test Operator is entrusted with the safe setup, operation, and dismantling of surface well testing equipment to assess the efficiency and output of oil and gas wells. This role involves working closely under the guidance of a Well Test Supervisor or Senior Operator.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble well test hardware including separators, chokes, sand traps, burners, flowlines, and manifolds at the wellsite following company guidelines and health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Operate well testing apparatus during flow phases, systematically recording measurements of pressure, temperature, and flow rates at designated time intervals.
• Contribute to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and participate in pre-job safety briefings.
• Continuously monitor well performance and equipment conditions, immediately reporting any irregularities to supervisory personnel.
• Maintain all equipment in safe and operational condition; assist in scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Accurately fill out field data documentation and relay measurements to the Supervisor or Engineer.
• Ensure that all essential equipment for the crew is accounted for, positioned properly, and ready for operation.
• Adhere strictly to all client procedures such as those from Saudi Aramco and company environmental and safety policies.
• Help replenish consumables and supplies at the wellsite.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a high school diploma; a technical or vocational certification in oilfield technology is preferred.
• Two to five years of practical experience in well testing or oilfield service operations within Saudi Aramco environments.
• Familiarity with well testing equipment, flow measurement calculations, and safety procedures including hydrogen sulfide (H2S) awareness and Job Safety Analysis.
• Ability and willingness to work rotational shifts, for example, 60 days on followed by 30 days off or a standard rig rotation, typically in remote desert sites.
• Good physical fitness and capability to perform under demanding field conditions.
• Basic English writing skills for logging data; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
