Job description
Role Overview
Laminex New Zealand invites an experienced warehouse or logistics supervisor to join our dedicated distribution team in Hamilton, Waikato. This position involves leadership of a compact team, overseeing the safe, precise, and timely delivery of products. You will directly report to the Production Manager and be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of large volumes of board products while coordinating closely with production and freight partners to ensure smooth operational flow.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily inbound and outbound freight activities along with inventory control within the warehouse.
- Assign products to predetermined storage areas and freight lanes for effective collection and delivery.
- Coordinate freight logistics in partnership with carriers and transport providers nationwide.
- Ensure the safe and efficient loading of trucks and trailers, taking into account weight distribution.
- Maintain precise inventory and documentation through warehouse and freight management software.
- Guarantee accurate loading, scanning, manifesting, and dispatching of products.
- Oversee inbound deliveries from suppliers, rail, and transport services.
- Lead by example to foster a robust safety culture on the warehouse floor.
- Assist with operational scheduling and coverage across extended business hours.
Work Schedule
The workweek runs Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a nine-hour shift coordinated among team members.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or distribution sectors.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership exposure is preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of warehouse inbound and outbound processes.
- Valid forklift license with F Endorsement and practical forklift operation experience.
- Experience collaborating with freight companies and transportation networks.
- Familiarity with warehouse or ERP systems such as SAP, BPICS, or similar platforms.
- Advanced skills in Excel and confidence in data management and reporting tools.
- Excellent abilities in planning, coordination, and problem-solving.
- Proven skill in establishing cooperative relationships with freight drivers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Flexible, practical approach with readiness to be actively involved wherever necessary.
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support operational needs and extra hours if required.
