Program overview
Marriott International is inviting recent university and hotel school graduates to join its Voyage Global Leadership Development Program at JW Marriott Auckland. This is a paid, full-time development opportunity designed to help early-career talent build leadership capability through practical hotel experience, mentorship, and structured learning. The program runs for 18 months and takes place inside a Marriott-managed hotel rather than a classroom setting.
Participants in Voyage work across real hotel operations, develop their professional skills, and gain exposure to Marriott’s global culture, senior leaders, and coaching network. The program is offered across more than 50 countries and covers several disciplines, including Rooms Operations.
What you will do
- Take part in day-to-day hotel operations and learn through practical assignments.
- Build and strengthen customer relationships.
- Contribute ideas and help drive innovation across the business.
- Gain experience in project work and people management.
- Review processes and present suggestions for improvement through your Voyage project.
- Handle special assignments that apply the skills developed during the program.
- Attend management meetings and collaborate with Voyage participants from around the world.
- Work on solving business challenges and proposing practical, creative solutions.
- Share feedback on the learning journey and help shape future Voyage experiences.

Eligibility and requirements
- You should have graduated from a university or hotel school within the last 12 months.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent higher-level qualification is required.
- An associate degree may be accepted for Culinary roles.
- Strong critical-thinking ability and interpersonal communication skills are expected.
- You should be able to build relationships and work well with others.
- Self-management and initiative are important for this role.
- A genuine interest in personal and professional growth is required.
- You must be authorized to work in the country of application, either as a local citizen or permanent resident.
- Students currently enrolled in college or university may also be considered if their expected graduation date is within 12 months of the application date.
- This application is for a September/October 2026 start.
