About the Role
Mercor, a company that bridges top creative and technical professionals with premier AI research labs, is offering a contract position for a Visual Design Specialist. The company is backed by notable investors including Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey. This fully remote role offers compensation ranging from $80 to $150 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop highly specific grading frameworks for evaluating design work such as brand identity systems, campaign graphics, and packaging designs.
- Assess samples created by AI and human designers, providing comprehensive and clear explanations for each evaluation score.
- Maintain consistent, evidence-based judgments ensuring that scoring is reliable and can be confidently defended.
- Incorporate feedback from senior reviewers rapidly to refine evaluations.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and contribute to the advancement of AI model quality.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of professional experience in visual, graphic, or brand design.
- Experience with world-leading design studios, creative agencies, or senior design roles at notable consumer or technology companies.
- Expertise in typography, layout, visual hierarchy, color theory, composition, and brand system design.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with an openness to critique and review of your professional judgments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous involvement in AI training, evaluation, or related human-data project work.
