Virtual Character Creator

About the Role

We are looking for an imaginative and versatile Virtual Character Creator who will design, develop, and bring to life unique virtual personas for AI-driven, interactive, and digital platforms. This role involves weaving together storytelling, character creation, visual arts, and cutting-edge technology to build characters with distinct identities, authentic behaviors, and captivating user interactions.

This position involves close collaboration with AI experts, character artists, writers, animators, 3D modelers, voice actors, motion specialists, and product teams to turn concepts into vivid digital personalities and engaging experiences.

Key Duties

• Design and develop original virtual characters from concept through production to launch.
• Establish detailed character profiles including identity, background, traits, motivations, relationships, and values.
• Create comprehensive character documentation outlining appearance, personality, communication approach, emotional expressions, movement, voice, and interaction styles.
• Partner with visual artists and 3D designers to define the character's look, outfit, facial expressions, gestures, and overall visual presence.
• Collaborate with writers and conversational designers to compose dialogues, narratives, scenarios, and interaction flows.
• Work alongside AI engineers and prompt experts to implement AI-driven behaviors and conversational systems reflective of character traits.
• Coordinate with voice and performance teams to define voice qualities, speech nuances, emotional range, and delivery style.
• Engage with animation, motion capture, and digital human teams to produce realistic movement, facial expressions, gestures, and physical behaviors.
• Design interactive and immersive scenarios suitable for entertainment, education, marketing, gaming, and digital environments.
• Test character responses under various situations and user interactions, refining creatively or technically as needed.
• Ensure character consistency across visual, behavioral, vocal, and interactive elements.
• Stay informed on advancements in Generative AI, digital humans, virtual production, real-time 3D, conversational AI, synthetic media, and interactive character technologies.
• Participate in creative reviews and guide multidisciplinary teams towards clear, unified character visions.
• Continuously improve characters by integrating user feedback, performance analytics, creative goals, and product demands.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Animation, Character Design, Game Design, Digital Media, Film, Performing Arts, Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Interaction Design, or related disciplines.
• 3 to 5 years experience in character creation, animation, gaming, virtual production, digital media, AI experiences, or related creative roles.
• Proven skill in crafting original characters with compelling identities, personalities, and visual/behavioral traits.
• Strong grasp of storytelling, character arcs, dramatic structure, and audience engagement strategies.
• Experience collaborating with diverse creative teams including artists, designers, writers, animators, developers, and performers.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models, conversational AI, digital humans, or AI-powered character platforms.
• Knowledge in at least one production domain such as 3D character creation, animation, motion capture, voice acting, game engines, or interactive media.
• Excellent creative judgment for turning abstract concepts into actionable character designs and production specs.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail ensuring character consistency across formats.
• Portfolio showcasing original character designs, development processes, animation, storytelling, or interactive experience projects.
• Fluency in English; additional languages advantageous.
