About the Role and Organisation
Become part of Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, a world-renowned botanical institution, during a pivotal phase, shaping user experiences that connect diverse audiences with Kew's important conservation work. This full-time, fixed-term position (2 years) is based at Kew Gardens in Richmond with flexible hybrid working options, blending onsite presence with regular home working.
Job Purpose and Impact
As a UX Designer, you will be integral in crafting user-centered, engaging and accessible digital experiences. Your work will support key initiatives such as the Palm House renovation, the development of Online Collections, and the Interactive Rainforest Experience. Your efforts will help communicate Kew's mission to safeguard plants and fungi, enriching public understanding and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to research and analyze user needs through testing and data analysis.
- Create user personas and map user journeys to inform design decisions.
- Develop wireframes and prototypes to visualize and iterate digital experiences.
- Utilize conversion rate optimization and experimentation techniques to enhance digital platforms.
- Manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills ensuring timely delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven expertise in UX design, including persona development, user journey mapping, wireframing, and prototyping.
- Experience in using user research, testing, and data analytics to guide design improvements.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle various projects simultaneously.
