Job overview

This role sits within the Tooling department and reports to the Toolroom Manager. It is a mid-level, full-time position based in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland.

Purpose of the role

The position is responsible for maintaining and repairing moulds in a high-volume injection moulding manufacturing environment. The scope also includes building and repairing jigs, fixtures, and spare parts used for injection moulds.

Core responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and keep in good working order a range of high-precision moulds, including multi-cavity, hot runner, valve-gated, and stack moulds.
  • Create and maintain standard specifications, procedures, and records for each mould, and ensure existing moulds are checked against those standards.
  • Assemble, fit, repair, and modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using both machine tools and hand tools.
  • Assist with early tool trials, validation activities, and related engineering support.
  • Carry out tool builds and help with tool changeovers whenever needed.
  • Spot opportunities for improvement and contribute to corrective actions and continuous improvement work.
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to diagnose and resolve mould issues.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including quality systems, financial controls, and health and safety requirements.
