Role Overview
In the role of Team Leader for Design & Development, you will lead and manage a cross-functional team comprising electrical/electronic, software and control systems, hydraulics, and technical compliance disciplines. Your main focus will be on both the technical and organizational management of the team while also engaging directly in selected development and project tasks.
Key Duties
- Lead the team both technically and organizationally, including planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks, projects, and resources.
- Ensure achievement of goals regarding quality, costs, and deadlines.
- Coordinate priorities, technical requirements, and resources in collaboration with the Head of Design & Development.
- Provide technical support to team members regarding problem-solving and decision-making.
- Oversee cooperation with internal departments and external service providers.
- Supervise development, change approval, and documentation processes.
- Participate actively in selected technical tasks and projects.
- Contribute to industry association activities and evaluate technical, regulatory, and normative requirements.
- Advance standards, processes, and methods within the team.
- Encourage a solution-driven, responsible, and respectful team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Completed technical degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation technology, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in design, development, or technical project work within mechanical engineering, special machinery, vehicle construction, or special-purpose vehicles.
- Experience in leading or coordinating technical teams.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and software-based systems.
- Ability to mentor team members, set priorities, and foster professional development.
- Preferable familiarity with electrical/electronic, software/control, hydraulics, or technical compliance.
- Methodical, reliable, and solution-focused workflow with experience in development, modification, approval, and documentation processes.
- Knowledge of CAD, PDM/PLM, ERP, or project management tools is desirable, as is experience in association, standards, or committee work.
- Strong communication skills, decision-making ability, and sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to contribute actively to technical tasks.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
