About Donald's Fine Foods
Donald’s Fine Foods is a family-owned specialty meat processing enterprise operating six facilities across Western Canada. The company manages a portfolio of brands including North 49 Foods, Thunder Creek Pork, Britco Pork, and Five Corners Meat Co.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete physical flow of products throughout the network, encompassing warehousing, transportation, inventory governance, and capacity planning. This is a strategic leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, with a team of four managers handling warehouse and distribution, transportation and logistics, inventory control, and supply chain planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a three-year supply chain strategy and capability plan for the network.
- Establish operational standards for transfers, carriers, warehousing, and customer service across five brands.
- Manage freight, external storage, and detention expenses while maintaining service quality and product shelf life.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and address root causes of discrepancies.
- Maintain a rolling 13-week capacity and transportation forecast to identify and resolve potential constraints proactively.
- Strengthen team leadership and foster a data-driven culture focused on addressing root problems rather than daily firefighting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in supply chain, logistics, operations, or a related discipline.
- Certification such as SCMP is advantageous.
- Minimum of seven years of advancing experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution, including leadership over managers or senior supervisors.
- Preferably experienced in food manufacturing, refrigerated distribution, meat processing, or regulated industries.
- Proficient in inventory control, transportation management, ERP/WMS/TMS systems, and KPI tracking.
- Proven record of developing systems and teams across multiple sites.
