Role overview

This contract role sits within Supply Chain Management and focuses on the handoff of projects into operations for power-related assets. The position is based in Calgary, AB or North York, ON and follows a hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the office, with Wednesday and Friday working from home. The assignment runs for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

The specialist will support both project and operations teams by improving total cost of ownership, reducing risk, and helping keep assets reliable once they enter service. A major part of the job is acting as the main SCM contact for warranty matters during transition and across the asset lifecycle.

Core accountabilities

  • Guide supply chain activities tied to moving projects into operations, including the transfer of warranty terms and related records.
  • Serve as the main SCM point of contact for warranty issues involving Projects, Operations, OEMs, EPCs, and secondary suppliers.
  • Coordinate warranty claims with OEMs and EPCs and drive them through to resolution.
  • Maintain claim documentation, status tracking, and reporting for all warranty cases.
  • Manage warranty matters from initial filing through final closure.
  • Interpret contract language and ensure warranty obligations are properly applied.
  • Handle negotiations around warranty disagreements and settlements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain effective relationships related to warranty commitments.
  • Support asset reliability as the subject matter expert for warranty processes.
  • Partner with Legal, Project teams, and other internal stakeholders during project transition activities.
  • Assist with procurement of operational spares, from identifying needs and sourcing items through to delivery, so parts are ready for operational turnover.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • At least 7 years of supply chain experience is expected, with preference for backgrounds in vendor management, supplier relationship management, or warranty management.
  • Direct experience reviewing, negotiating, and administering supply contracts is needed.

Additional information

This is a 12-month contract position with possible extensions. The work model is hybrid, with on-site attendance required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and work from home on Wednesday and Friday.
