Role Overview
This full-time position located on-site in Al Kharj is for a Specialist in Research & Development. The individual will primarily engage in garment pattern creation, assessing product feasibility, enhancing garment construction, and facilitating new product development from design conception through final production. The role emphasizes pattern engineering, sample creation, product evaluation, and process optimization to ensure delivery of top-quality, efficient-to-produce garments.
Key Duties
- Develop initial and production-ready garment patterns including jackets, trousers, shirts, and coveralls.
- Apply pattern-making software tools to create, adjust, and improve digital patterns and samples (preferred skill).
- Generate garment patterns derived from physical samples or design sketches, ensuring accurate interpretation of construction and sewing methods.
- Evaluate garment samples and revise patterns to address issues related to fit, construction, and performance.
- Perform product engineering analyses such as outlining sewing operation sequences, calculating standard minute values (SMV), projecting production targets, and estimating workforce needs for production lines.
- Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to verify product manufacturability and boost production efficiency.
- Assist in sample development, product testing, and ongoing enhancement efforts.
- Document technical details regarding product development and manufacturing processes for reference and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, Clothing & Textiles, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in apparel R&D, pattern engineering, or garment product development.
- Advanced knowledge of garment pattern creation, construction techniques, and apparel manufacturing workflows.
- Familiarity with digital pattern-making software is advantageous.
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
