Role Overview
We seek a Software Developer to enhance and maintain our internal IT systems by addressing issues reported by end-users and delivering suitable software fixes or enhancements. Your contributions will significantly impact business success and staff productivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Interpret support requests to develop appropriate software fixes and improvements.
- Diagnose and remediate software bugs and technical problems.
- Design, code, test, and debug software applications.
- Engage in peer code reviews and promote coding standards and best practices.
- Create and sustain clear documentation for all software components.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Expertise in SQL, .NET (specifically C#), and VB Scripting languages.
- Experience working within team development environments and familiarity with version control tools like TFS DevOps or Git.
- Excellent analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on supporting end-users effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Genuine interest in life sciences, particularly Chemistry and Microbiology.
- Experience developing web applications using frameworks such as C# Razor and .NET Core.
