The Identity & Integration platform team delivers fast, reliable, and innovative technical solutions. This platform supports service delivery across engineering teams using modern cloud-native technologies. The team is seeking an experienced platform engineer specializing in Site Reliability Engineering to enhance platform stability, developer experience, and security guardrails within an Azure and CNCF Kubernetes environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive reliability engineering efforts for platform services and deployment processes, following cloud-native and CNCF best practices.
- Develop and maintain reusable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and templates that serve multiple development teams.
- Ensure the health and robustness of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, manage Helm deployments, and handle rollouts and recovery processes across various environments.
- Implement policy-as-code controls using OPA/Rego, manage service mesh traffic policies with Kong Mesh, and embed security validation within deployment pipelines.
- Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), enhance operational preparedness, respond to incidents, and improve platform observability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, security, and service teams to minimize manual work and optimize developer workflows.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 7 to 10 years of direct experience in site reliability or platform engineering within cloud-hosted containerized production environments.
- Extensive expertise with AKS, Helm, GitHub Actions, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and kubelogin addressing multi-team and multi-service deployments.
- Hands-on experience with CNCF ecosystem tools including OPA/Rego for policy enforcement and service mesh technologies like Kong Mesh or equivalent.
- Strong background in implementing secure-by-default delivery practices incorporating Azure identity management, Key Vault, workload identities, service principal controls, and compliance governance.
- Demonstrated capabilities in incident management, SLO-driven reliability measures, and Kubernetes workload observability.
Desirable Qualifications
- Professional CNCF certifications such as CKAD or CKS, and/or Azure certifications like AZ-104 or AZ-400.
- Proven experience operating in CNCF-based platform environments is an advantage.
Why Join Us?
- Opportunity to work on a live CNCF-based platform involving AKS, Helm, GitHub Actions, OPA, and Kong Mesh technologies.
- Ownership of high-impact platform functionality that serves multiple services and domains, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Continuous growth prospects in platform engineering within a culture that values craftsmanship and continuous learning.
