Shop Technician

Role overview

Africa World Airlines Limited is looking for a Shop Technician to support wheel shop maintenance activities in Accra. The position involves hands-on work with aircraft wheel components, following approved maintenance documentation and workshop procedures.

Key tasks

• Interpret job instructions, component maintenance manuals, and related operating procedures before starting work.
• Perform wheel shop duties in line with the relevant maintenance manual requirements.
• Dismantle aircraft wheels as part of the maintenance process.
• Remove wheels using wheel wash equipment.
• Wash aircraft wheels using the appropriate equipment.
• Clean small aircraft wheel parts and related components.
• Remove paint by striping aircraft wheel surfaces.
• Use sandblasting equipment where required.
• Check and inspect small aircraft wheel parts for condition and compliance.
• Carry out pre-assembly checks and assemble aircraft wheel hubs.
• Fit aircraft tyres onto the wheels.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should hold an HND or an equivalent qualification in any technical discipline.

Competencies

• Careful and detail-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication ability.
• Comfortable using computers in day-to-day work.
