About Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab is a comprehensive space company offering from launch services to satellite manufacturing, aiming to democratize space access. Our Electron rocket is the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket, executing over 230 satellite deployments. We are developing Neutron, a medium-lift reusable launch vehicle for larger satellite constellations. Our Space Systems division delivers satellites and components for prominent missions including NASA's Moon and Mars programs and the James Webb Space Telescope.

Neutron Project

The Neutron team handles the design, testing, and launch facility preparation for the new Neutron rocket, including its Archimedes engines and U.S. launch/test sites. This role offers a chance to contribute to the first flight of a large rocket.

  • Acquire, ingest, and store telemetry data from launch operations, spacecraft operations, system tests, simulations, and sub-system tests.
  • Develop software, automated tests, and system architecture responding to feature requests and bug fixes.
  • Create comprehensive operational documentation for software products.
  • Use version control tools for code management and enforce code review standards.

Qualifications Required

  • Shared data model definition and Python programming skills.

Work Environment and Culture

At Rocket Lab, overcoming challenges to enable space access demands innovation, teamwork, and dedication. Team members support each other, work diligently under pressure, and persist toward mission success.

Important Legal and Compliance Information

For U.S. roles: Candidates must meet U.S. Government export compliance, including ITAR regulations requiring U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate authorization.

For New Zealand roles: Background checks and citizenship eligibility are mandatory due to ITAR regulations, requiring citizenship of select countries including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, EU member states, NATO countries, and restrictions on dual nationality.
