Senior Safety Officer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Officer with 5-6 years of background in electrical engineering to lead and coordinate the implementation of safety policies and programs at our site in Ludhiana, Punjab. The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering along with ADIS/PDIS certification from RLI or CLI.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute company and customer EHS policies and programs on-site.
• Collaborate closely with the Customer EHS team to ensure compliance and alignment.
• Monitor and manage Uncontrolled Conditions (UC), Unsafe Acts (UA), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and management activities including HIRA and JSA.
• Report accidents and incidents with detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Motivate and lead teams to adhere to safety regulations and workplace safety protocols.
• Organize and facilitate safety meetings, training sessions, audits, and inspections.
• Ensure availability of necessary PPEs at the workplace and identify and implement corrective measures.
• Compile monthly EHS reports highlighting safety performance and improvements.
• Conduct safety campaigns and awareness activities at the site.
• Utilize EHS global applications to achieve international safety targets.
• Deliver safety training on topics such as PPE usage, Lock Out Tag Out, Risk Assessment, HIRA, JSA, Work permits, hazard identification, behavioral safety, crane and hoist safety, electrical/fire safety, machine guarding, chemical handling, emergency evacuation, fall hazards, scaffolding, and other relevant EHS subjects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with ADIS/PDIS certification (RLI/CLI).
• 5-6 years of experience in the electrical safety domain.
• Strong understanding of safety standards including UC, UA, LOTO, PPE, MSDS, PTW.
• Proficiency in risk assessment tools such as HIRA and JSA.
• Excellent leadership, communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Capable of working effectively as part of a team.
• Skilled in preparing reports and documentation.
• Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
