Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee mechanical activities such as HVAC, piping, firefighting, and utility systems
- Ensure work complies with approved general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and project specifications
- Coordinate closely with Civil, Electrical, and other MEP teams to achieve clash-free execution
- Detect and resolve interface conflicts among Civil and other disciplines
- Manage firefighting system installations including hydrants, sprinklers, and related packages
- Engage hands-on in both first fix and second fix execution phases
- Supervise common/shared services rack installation and coordinate related tasks
- Review GA drawings to find discrepancies and coordination shortcomings
- Conduct site coordination meetings with various departments and vendors
- Manage contractors to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards
- Track progress with preparation of daily and weekly progress reports (DPR/WPR)
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC and ISO standards, along with safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW)
- Liaise with EPC contractors including reputed vendors like L&T
Candidate Profile & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech)
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction and project execution
- Strong expertise in HVAC, piping, firefighting systems, and utilities
- Proficient in reading and interpreting GA drawings, P&IDs, and layouts
- Experience managing coordination and interfaces between MEP and Civil disciplines
- Familiarity with ISO standards related to mechanical works (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Practical experience with first fix, second fix, and shared services rack installations
- Hands-on knowledge of pipe laying involving materials such as MS, SS, PPH, PVDF, HDPE, and uPVC
- Expertise with utilities including HVAC equipment (AHU, MAU, RCU), chilled water systems, centrifugal chillers, compressed air systems (CDA), PCW, heat exchangers, cooling towers, UPW, and WWTP
- Skilled in problem solving, decision-making, strong communication, and team leadership
