Senior Project Manager - Data Centres

About the Role

We are partnering with a prominent organisation specialising in complex, large-scale data centre developments to appoint a seasoned Senior Project Manager. This leadership role involves complete accountability for a major data centre project—from contract award through to final commissioning and handover. The position demands a strategic leader who can ensure the project's success in terms of quality, safety, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction across multiple disciplines including Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA), and Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP).

Key Responsibilities

• Drive all phases of a large-scale data centre project, coordinating mobilisation, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Lead comprehensive multi-disciplinary teams spanning CSA and MEP disciplines to ensure smooth collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and implement effective strategies for project delivery, resource allocation, procurement, programme recovery, and supply chain oversight.
• Maintain robust client relationships, acting as the main liaison during project execution.
• Manage the commercial aspects including contract administration, variation orders, change control, claims, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, programme schedules, budget constraints, and high-quality benchmarks at every project stage.
• Champion health, safety, environmental (HSE) practices, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance throughout.
• Oversee commissioning processes, operational readiness, and the smooth handover of facilities, ensuring all critical systems meet established performance criteria.
• Create a collaborative and results-oriented environment for multidisciplinary project teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Significant experience managing major data centre or mission-critical projects from initial stages through commissioning and handover.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams covering Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines.
• Comprehensive commercial knowledge including management of project profit and loss, contracts, and risks.
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Deep understanding of HSE standards, quality control, and regulatory frameworks applicable in complex construction projects.
• Experience with hyperscale or mission-critical development projects is highly advantageous.
