Overview
Based in Australia with remote engagement across the JAPAC region, this contract position offers an opportunity to manage major Network and Data Centre Infrastructure Programs within one of the world's largest hyperscale technology platforms. The role involves orchestrating critical regional infrastructure initiatives including network capacity growth, hardware rollouts, data centre expansions, and colocation facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, governance, and execution of extensive infrastructure programs across the JAPAC region.
- Manage multiple overlapping projects focused on network expansions, hardware implementation, data centre growth, and colocation networks.
- Collaborate closely with teams in Network Engineering, Data Centre Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, and external partners to synchronize complex multidisciplinary programs and handle dependencies.
- Create program roadmaps, define project charters, establish governance frameworks, allocate resources, and develop delivery timelines.
- Align program execution with technical, operational, and regional requirements in cooperation with engineering and infrastructure groups.
- Monitor milestones, track progress, and ensure accountability across various workstreams.
- Identify and manage risks related to technical, construction, and operational factors, proactively escalating issues and implementing mitigation plans.
- Maintain robust relationships with stakeholders at regional and global levels, providing clear communication and executive reporting throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate teams distributed over multiple countries, balancing priorities and delivery schedules.
- Drive ongoing improvement via lessons learned, optimization of processes, and adoption of program management best practices.
- Leverage project management tools and AI-enabled productivity applications to enhance program visibility, reporting, and overall delivery effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- At least 8 years of proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure programs or projects involving networks, data centres, hyperscale or cloud infrastructure, telecoms, or enterprise technology.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional programs with engineering, operations, construction, and business teams across multiple nations or regions.
- Deep understanding of network infrastructure, server and hardware deployment, data centre operations, and capacity planning.
- Experience with programs encompassing network capacity amplification, hardware deployment, data centre construction, infrastructure upgrades, or colocation.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams without formal reporting authority.
- Strong command of program governance, risk management, dependency tracking, and executive stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or similar project management software.
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g. Gemini, Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve program delivery is a plus.
- Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field; certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile methodology are highly preferred.
Benefits and Opportunities
- Engage with one of the largest hyperscale technology ecosystems globally.
- Take ownership of significant Network, Hardware, and Data Centre infrastructure programs at a regional level.
- Gain exposure to large-scale enterprise network infrastructure, hardware deployments, data centre capacity growth, and colocation environments.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering, operations, construction, and infrastructure teams on impactful initiatives.
- Contribute within a collaborative culture offering real influence over large infrastructure deliveries throughout the JAPAC region.
- Potential for regional travel to support program execution and stakeholder collaboration across several countries.
