Senior Product Architect

About the role

You will join a fast-scaling digital banking and fintech business focused on lending platforms, with the chance to influence how technology is shaped across multiple markets in the APAC region. The role is highly hands-on and collaborative, working closely with product and engineering teams to make practical decisions that balance speed, cost, quality, and customer value.

The company operates like a startup in terms of pace, while also carrying the scale, compliance expectations, and regulatory depth of a bank. It is backed by top-tier investors and serves millions of customers with simple, fair, technology-led financial products.

What you will do

• Work alongside Product Owners and engineers to test assumptions, refine needs, and focus on genuine customer pain points.
• Create secure, reliable, and scalable system designs that remain practical, economical, and ready for production.
• Promote lightweight, value-driven technical approaches that can be delivered quickly without unnecessary complexity.
• Support engineering teams through mentoring, architecture guidance, and thoughtful code review input.
• Act as a translator between technical and business stakeholders by turning complex ideas into clear, actionable results.

What we are looking for

• At least 8 years of experience in backend engineering, including APIs, databases, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid exposure to cloud-native environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, Kubernetes or Docker, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
• Strong judgment in choosing technology solutions that improve business outcomes, including faster delivery, lower operating cost, and better user experience.
• A mindset that values simplicity and avoids unnecessary over-engineering.
• Previous experience coaching engineers and helping teams make sound technical choices.

Nice to have

• Experience working with AI or LLM integrations for customer support or decision support use cases.
• Understanding of financial domain concepts such as transactions, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Exposure to Java, Kotlin, Python, and the Spring ecosystem.
