Role Overview
Join Keeta as a Senior Legal Counsel based in Doha, Qatar, overseeing local legal affairs within Middle Eastern countries to ensure compliant business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all local legal matters in Middle Eastern markets to guarantee business compliance.
- Draft, review, and translate contracts, agreements, and legal documents in both Chinese and English, assisting business units with diverse legal challenges.
- Handle routine legal consultations, compliance reviews, government inquiries, and regulatory communications.
- Support the development and enhancement of subsidiary compliance frameworks and legal risk management systems, implementing headquarters’ compliance policies. Collaborate with local and global legal teams to maintain consistent legal frameworks across jurisdictions.
- Develop and sustain a network of external legal advisors and service providers.
- Facilitate internal company training, legal awareness campaigns, and boost employee compliance understanding.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess at least a bachelor's degree in law or related fields.
- Have over seven years of experience in foreign-related legal work, with exposure to cross-border legal matters or educational background in English-speaking countries.
- Fluent in English with strong skills in drafting, translating, and communicating legal documents bilingually (English-Chinese).
- Exhibit strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal personnel.
- Familiar with government regulatory processes, capable of engaging with government entities, and handling inquiries, investigations, and compliance-related issues.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, coordination skills, teamwork, and adaptability to multicultural environments.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, able to work under pressure, and skilled in managing complex legal projects in fast-paced contexts; open to new challenges.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Legal experience in sectors such as internet, platforms, logistics, warehousing, or food delivery.
- Prior working experience in Kuwait or Qatar.
- Holding legal practice qualifications in China or other countries.
- Proficiency in Arabic language.
