Role Overview
This role focuses on delivering the new "Focus" program, aimed at cultivating executive function and leadership skills that contribute to academic, extracurricular and personal development success. Targeting students in grades 8-10, the coach will use frameworks such as the MIT Human Skills Matrix to foster leadership capabilities that are highly regarded by top universities and employers, measuring progress through weekly tasks and milestone projects. This is a flexible, contract position with hourly engagement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structured weekly one-on-one coaching sessions focusing on developing skills in self-management, interaction, critical thinking, and leadership.
- Evaluate each student's needs across 18 core skill areas and develop tailored development plans spanning 10 to 30 weeks targeting prioritized skills in cycles.
- Monitor and document student progress via weekly assignments, milestone deliverables, and periodic evaluations.
- Utilize available resources and adapt to newly introduced tools and practices.
- Collaborate closely with Execution Mentors, Strategists, and Student Success Managers to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Coach students to cultivate long-term academic habits as well as professional success competencies.
- Foster development of key character traits and emotional intelligence such as integrity, resilience, initiative, empathy, motivation, and curiosity.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Master’s or PhD in coaching, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated clinical or formal experience working with youth.
- Proven track record of success in youth or student coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience within public or private sector organizations.
- Background in executive function coaching or leadership skill development.
- Keen understanding of current higher education admissions trends.
- Experience supporting international students.
- Familiarity with student skills assessments, progress tracking, and evaluation frameworks.
