Basic Hitech Furniture Pvt. Ltd., located in Ekkattuthangal, Chennai, specializes in furniture and turnkey interior projects. They are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to join their team, focusing on interior and architectural project estimations.
Job Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and rate analyses primarily for both residential and commercial interior and architectural projects. The role involves tender preparation, submission, and comparative cost evaluations, while coordinating closely with design, project management, procurement, and on-site teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and detailed rate analyses.
- Prepare and submit tenders alongside comparative cost assessments.
- Interpret and analyze Good For Construction (GFC) drawings, project specifications, and defined scopes of work.
- Coordinate with various departments such as design, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate and feasible estimating.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and assist in budget finalization.
- Manage project variations, implement value engineering techniques, and maintain cost controls.
Technical Proficiencies
- In-depth knowledge of interior design materials, finishes, joinery, and all fit-out works.
- Competent in producing and reading 2D AutoCAD drawings.
- Ability to coordinate and interpret 3D designs using tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Revit at a coordination level.
- Clear understanding of cost structures differentiating residential and commercial projects.
Project Experience
- Residential projects including apartments, villas, and luxury homes.
- Commercial interiors such as offices, retail outlets, corporate spaces, and hospitality venues.
Candidate Expectations
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in interior or architectural project estimation.
- Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities with excellent coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines.
