Senior Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accounts Executive based in Broadway, Chennai to oversee comprehensive accounting operations including taxation, banking transactions, vendor payments, and import/export documentation. Candidates must be proficient in Tally ERP systems, GST and TDS compliance, and financial reporting.

Key Duties

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, journals, cash and bank books using Tally ERP.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements.
• Manage vendor payments efficiently and maintain schedules for timely clearance.
• Handle various banking operations such as RTGS, NEFT, CMS, and remittances seamlessly.
• Coordinate import/export documentation and liaise with CHA agents for smooth processing.
• Prepare and submit GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9 timely and accurately.
• Oversee TDS deductions, filing processes, and ensure adherence to compliance norms.
• Assist with payroll operations and employee payments administration.
• Maintain comprehensive inventory and stock reconciliation records.
• Compile weekly and monthly financial reports to support management decisions.
• Collaborate in statutory and internal audits to uphold regulatory standards.
• Ensure total compliance with GST, Income Tax, RBI guidelines, and other pertinent regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong command of Tally ERP or Tally Prime accounting software.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience filing GST and managing TDS compliance.
• Proficient in bank reconciliation and vendor payment processes.
• Knowledgeable about import/export documentation requirements.
• Effective communication skills in both English and Tamil languages.
• Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail in all tasks.

Preferred Attributes

• Background in trading, distribution, logistics, import-export, or commodity sectors.
• Preference for female candidates.
• Educational qualifications including B.Com or M.Com degrees favored.
