About the Role
Abu Dhabi Aviation is on the lookout for skilled and experienced Search and Rescue (SAR) Captains to reinforce our Operations team. This defining position involves piloting UAE military aircraft for critical Search and Rescue and Aero-medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) missions, upholding the utmost operational precision, safety, and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and execute SAR and MEDEVAC flights with utmost safety and efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to flight safety protocols and operational standards.
- Conduct missions around the clock, including operations using Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
- Guarantee that aircraft and SAR equipment are always mission-ready.
- Maintain thorough operational, training, and regulatory documentation.
- Engage actively in training programs, proficiency evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
- Promote a robust culture of safety through vigilant risk management and incident reporting.
- Work collaboratively with flight crew, medical personnel, and operational partners to ensure successful missions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Possession of AW139 Type Rating with a minimum of 500 flight hours on this aircraft type.
- Accumulated at least 3,000 total helicopter flying hours.
- Hold a valid Instrument Rating recognized by FAA, GCAA, EASA, or military equivalents.
- Certified in NVG, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC).
- Completed a minimum of 180 flight hours utilizing NVG technology.
- Demonstrated substantial Search and Rescue experience, especially with hoist operations.
- Previous operational experience in MEDEVAC missions.
- Minimum English proficiency at Level 4 for clear communication.
- Strong decision-making abilities and communication skills.
- Expertise in SAR operations with a proven track record of leadership and crew coordination.
- Able to perform efficiently under high-pressure and dynamic situations.
- Dedication to safety standards, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
- Flexible availability to accommodate emergency response schedules.
