Position Overview
We are seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent civil engineering contractor engaged in significant infrastructure and groundworks projects across the United Kingdom. This role offers exposure to large-scale and diverse projects with a stable and long-term career prospect.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the financial aspects of civil engineering projects from procurement stages through to final accounting.
- Prepare valuations, applications, variations, cost reports, and financial forecasts to support project progress.
- Assist in tender processes, subcontractor procurement, and the administration of contracts.
- Collaborate closely with site teams to monitor project progress, assess risks, and ensure commercial targets are met.
- Engage in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project costs and outcomes.
- Contribute to delivering projects that meet safety, efficiency, and profitability objectives.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or related fields such as infrastructure, groundworks, highways, utilities, or drainage sectors.
- Strong commercial insight combined with comprehensive knowledge of contract administration.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
- Capability to manage multiple simultaneous projects or contract packages.
- Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, commercial management, or construction are preferred.
