Quality Control Operative

Position Overview

Dawn Meats is seeking a permanent full-time Quality Control Operative to join their Convenience Foods and Retail Quality Team at the Carrolls Cross facility in County Waterford. This role will contribute to maintaining high product standards by performing regular quality assessments aligned with production, food safety, hygiene, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute hourly quality and due diligence inspections on products to ensure compliance with customer and legal standards.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks across production areas.
• Document and communicate quality data and feedback to both the quality team lead and the production shift manager to facilitate continual improvements.
• Collect meat and environment samples for microbial analysis.
• Support projects as assigned by supervisors and FSQ management.
• Apply data analysis for informed quality control decisions.
• Assist production staff with adherence to product safety, quality, and traceability protocols.
• Participate in customer and third-party audit processes.
• Promote and uphold a culture of "Always Audit Ready" within the production environment.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Proficiency in English communication.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
• Problem-solving aptitude with the ability to take initiative.
• Keen attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Flexibility to support QC team and work a three-shift schedule including availability on Saturdays as required (days, evenings, mid-shifts).
• Possession of own transport is advantageous.
