Overview
Join a major RSAF Tornado maintenance initiative located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, supporting one of the world's largest operational Tornado fleets. This full-time position involves working Sunday through Thursday, 48 hours per week, under a 3-month rolling contract arrangement.
Role Summary
As a Propulsion Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining aircraft propulsion systems, ensuring engines and components operate reliably and safely. Key duties include inspection, fault diagnosis, repairs, servicing, engine removal/installation, function testing, and supporting ground runs and post-maintenance checks. Your work will contribute directly to aircraft availability and operational readiness within a highly regulated military aviation environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, inspection, servicing, and repairs on aircraft propulsion systems.
- Execute engine removal, installation, and functional testing procedures.
- Diagnose faults and resolve issues according to technical documentation.
- Conduct thorough inspections of engines and related components.
- Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to maintain fleet readiness.
- Support ground runs and post-maintenance engine checks as authorized.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and certifications aligned with airworthiness standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, environmental, and product safety regulations.
- Promote and maintain high housekeeping standards including FOD prevention.
- Participate in ongoing technical training, development, and trainee mentoring.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completed recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical, Aeronautical, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in aircraft propulsion or engine maintenance roles.
- Strong understanding of engine systems, fault-finding, and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and maintenance publications.
- Experience within military or commercial aviation maintenance environments.
- Possession of a current driving licence.
Preferred Background
- Experience working with Tornado aircraft or fast jet propulsion systems.
- Military aviation maintenance experience.
- Authorisations for engine ground running operations.
- Familiarity with aircraft servicing, inspections, modifications, and compliance in regulated maintenance organisations.

Additional Details
- The daily pay rate is £315 through a limited company arrangement, inclusive of shared accommodation.
- Flights to/from the UK for job/visa travel expenses are covered.
- Accommodation, visa sponsorship, and onsite facilities are provided.
- Opportunity for earnings enhancement via available overtime.
- Deployment start date is ASAP; however, actual deployment may take up to 5 months to finalize.
