Position Overview
The Government of Yukon's Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR) department is seeking a dedicated Project Manager for its Assessment and Abandoned Mines (AAM) Branch. This full-time permanent role involves contributing to the responsible management and remediation of abandoned mine sites in Yukon, with a commitment to environmental protection, health and safety, effective project oversight, and financial stewardship. The position requires working 75 hours every two weeks.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and manage a variety of projects focused on remote abandoned mine locations, prioritizing the protection of surrounding water bodies. They must be able to navigate a dynamic environment with competing priorities and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in engineering, science, environmental science, or a related discipline is essential.
- Proven experience managing projects, including planning, scheduling, and reviewing deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships both within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Experience applying water quality regulations and managing water quality monitoring initiatives.
- Preferably, experience with projects on active or abandoned mine sites or similar technically challenging environments.
Applicants with equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.

Additional Information
- Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Job duties include travel within and outside of the Yukon Territory.
- An eligibility list will be maintained for 12 months following selection.
