Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to support a general contractor on construction work in St. Louis, Missouri. This position is centered on leading projects from the earliest planning stages through final closeout, with accountability for budget control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and clear communication with clients. The role is suited to someone who enjoys ownership, hands-on problem-solving, and contributing across every stage of a build.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with attention to safety, timing, and financial goals.
- Promote and monitor safety and quality practices, including involvement in field inspections and site walkthroughs.
- Help run day-to-day project activities, address onsite challenges, and keep work aligned with drawings, specifications, and client needs.
- Assist with estimates, quantity takeoffs, proposals, subcontractor bidding, buyout activities, and contract paperwork.
- Track project budgets, forecasts, change orders, vendor bills, and owner invoicing.
- Support permit acquisition and help ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and contract obligations.
- Keep project records organized, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and closeout documentation.
- Work closely with superintendents and field personnel to support efficient execution.
- Attend OAC, subcontractor, and internal coordination meetings to monitor progress and maintain alignment.
- Develop and preserve strong working relationships with clients, design professionals, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a comparable background gained through experience is preferred.
- Applicants should have 4 to 8+ years of experience in construction project management.
- Experience helping manage projects from preconstruction through completion is required.
- Strong organizational ability, communication skills, and a practical approach to problem-solving are important.
- Familiarity with construction tools and software such as Procore and Microsoft Office is expected.
