Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Project Manager at Cognite, you will be accountable for driving high-priority industrial AI projects from contract signing through deployment and delivering tangible business outcomes. This role demands end-to-end ownership of project delivery including control over scope, budget, quality, and customer results, ensuring alignment with client strategic priorities.

• Lead projects ensuring alignment with customer goals such as operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and cost optimization.
• Develop comprehensive project plans addressing scope, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
• Manage integration of complex OT/IT data systems using agile project management methodologies.
• Conduct value realization sessions converting use case objectives into measurable KPIs, tracking outcomes and demonstrating impact.
• Maintain transparent and regular communication with stakeholders including Account Executives, Business Executives, customers, and the Product team, managing expectations and project updates.
• Handle project finances such as revenue tracking, margin analysis, forecasting, and booking, reporting to the Portfolio Manager.
• Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution, ensuring effective governance, steering committee leadership, and executive briefings.
• Manage vendor and partner relations, document processes, and oversee customer satisfaction and change management activities including user training support.
• Identify expansion opportunities by understanding customer challenges and coordinating internally for opportunity pursuit.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by applying Cognite's PMO methodologies and sharing lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience managing complex projects in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environments, preferably with industrial or enterprise AI/IT project portfolios.
• Experience with SaaS implementation, including client onboarding, training, and change management.
• Strong record of successfully delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects in dynamic settings.
• Expertise in industrial sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Life Science, Power/Utilities, and Renewables.
• Financial expertise including project cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management frameworks such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Fluent in English and German with ability to travel up to 25% for client engagements.
• Skilled in project management software including Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Smartsheet.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data platforms, and industrial IoT.
• Experience with data engineering, analytics, AI, or machine learning projects is advantageous.
