The hiring client is a UAE-based independent government entity that brings large capital projects under one umbrella for better oversight and coordination. Its portfolio is valued at more than AED 200 billion and includes over 600 initiatives spanning housing, transport, healthcare, education, and tourism.
Role overview
This position is for a Project Management Expert on a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension. The role focuses on driving transformation work and special projects while also supporting PMO activities through governance, progress tracking, and performance reporting. It is aimed at someone who can work independently, keep initiatives structured, and strengthen delivery discipline through strong coordination and follow-through.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of transformation programs and special assignments from the planning stage through execution and final closure.
- Create and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, timelines, governance frameworks, and reporting routines.
- Monitor progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items across the initiatives assigned.
- Build status updates, dashboards, governance packs, and steering committee materials for senior review.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure roles, deadlines, and deliverables are clearly understood.
- Flag delivery risks early and propose practical corrective actions when needed.
- Assist PMO processes such as reporting cadence, project control, and visibility into performance.
- Run project meetings and workshops, and make sure follow-up actions are completed so momentum and accountability are maintained.
Qualification and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, Operations, or a similar field is required. The role calls for at least 8 years of experience in project management, PMO, transformation, strategy execution, or special projects. The ideal candidate should understand governance, planning, risk handling, and performance reporting, and be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across different functions. Hands-on delivery management combined with disciplined reporting is important. PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
