Role overview
This Dublin-based Project Coordinator role focuses on supporting engineering and construction delivery by coordinating stakeholders, reporting progress, managing documentation, and helping ensure project work stays aligned with design intent, quality expectations, and schedule requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering support activities by working with key project stakeholders such as the client design team, main contractor, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain clear progress reporting so targets and deadlines are met, including management of an engineering task log led by the Engineering Lead.
- Review design, IFC specifications, and drawings to understand the full scope of the works.
- Oversee the coordination process that turns design information into installation drawings through BIM personnel, ensuring compliance with specifications and the project schedule.
- Prepare and manage requests for information (RFIs) where clarification is needed.
- Support the installation package team with quality management on site and help ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
- Assist with validation and handover activities for the client.
- Review subcontractor and supplier tender returns for technical alignment with the design intent and specifications.
- Stay familiar with the project schedule and make sure engineering activities do not disrupt procurement or other critical timelines.
- Manage technical submittals and approvals.
- Support material procurement by using the Engineering Materials Report (EMR), producing material take-offs, and identifying lead times and field need rates.
- Help ensure installations follow project specifications and the QA plan, including pre-agreed benchmarking where required.
- Coordinate subcontractors and keep information flowing so work progresses in line with the project schedule and weekly meetings are recorded.
- Identify and encourage the use of improved engineering practices and processes to help shorten delivery timelines.
- Prepare and agree completion criteria and close-out documentation.
- Help prepare subcontract and supplier tender packages with the Project QS.
- Manage construction work packs from development through implementation and handover, including onsite support for the construction management team.
- Attend project meetings or white-board activity planning sessions when needed by the project or team manager.
Required experience and skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
- Strong organisation and project planning ability.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Competent PC user.
- Able to manage workload and prioritise effectively.
Preferred qualities
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently when needed.
- Familiarity with ICT systems.
