Job description
Overview
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service at HMP Bullingdon as an Operational Support Grade, a vital role in facilitating the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy correctional facility. This position offers an engaging combination of administrative duties and physical responsibilities, ensuring security and operational efficiency within the prison environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security procedures and searches at the prison entrance.
- Manage deliveries and supervise visitors effectively.
- Monitor telephone communications and CCTV for security purposes.
- Perform occasional physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across the prison grounds.
- Work various shifts including weekends and nights to maintain continuous operational support.
Candidate Profile
No formal qualifications are necessary; however, excellent communication skills and calmness under pressure are essential. Candidates should possess sound judgement and teamwork abilities to contribute positively to the prison’s safety and functionality.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, including the D1 category, permitting them to operate vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, a length of 8 metres maximum, and trailers up to 750kg.
