Currently, ASB is seeking an experienced SAP Principal Engineer to join the Core Tribe, which delivers all real-time transactional and online banking services that support ASB's operations. This role is pivotal in supporting our SAP squad throughout a significant migration project that involves modernizing core legacy systems. Reporting to the Tribe Tech Lead, the position focuses on driving the migration journey and ensuring solutions are architected to meet business needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Engage with key stakeholders and delivery teams to design and architect high-level technical solutions addressing business requirements including non-functional needs.
• Assist the Customer Experience Owner and team in Increment Planning, contributing to shaping and refining Epics and Features.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Architects, stakeholders, and the broader SAP team to deliver effective SAP Fioneer Transactional Banking (TRBK) platform solutions aligning with business demands and regulatory controls from ASB and APRA.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to support and maintain the SAP Fioneer TRBK platform, advocating migration of legacy products to TRBK.
• Seek opportunities to optimize customer and staff experiences by leveraging standard TRBK and BTP out-of-the-box features.
• Conduct audits to ensure the integrity and cleanliness of the core platform are maintained.
• Work proactively within the SAP focus area to improve team efficiencies.
• Provide thought leadership on SAP best practices and guide the core modernization efforts.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in designing and delivering SAP solutions specifically within SAP Banking Services.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA TRBK, BTP, and Fiori technologies is advantageous.
• Solid expertise and background in Banking Services.
• Capability to mentor and guide SAP functional consultants, developers, and testers as required.
• Strong track record of delivering positive outcomes for customers and businesses, driven by a proactive attitude and commitment to continual growth and learning.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyze and understand business and system requirements in close collaboration with stakeholders.
• Design SAP TRBK platform solutions tailored to business user needs.
• Lead and mentor SAP engineers, developers, and testers, offering technical guidance and leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase engineering efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide training and ongoing support to SAP teams, end users, and other stakeholders to ensure proficient system use.
• Oversee system testing and quality assurance efforts to verify full compliance with requirements.
• Review and maintain project and system documentation as needed.
• Address and resolve critical escalations arising during implementation and maintenance of the SAP TRBK system.
• Keep abreast of latest TRBK functional developments and innovations to continuously advance core banking solutions.
