About the internship

The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL is offering a remote internship for a Junior Policy Researcher. The assignment runs for 8 weeks and is suited to people interested in policy research, human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and closely related fields.

Role overview

Interns will work with guidance and supervision to strengthen their research, analytical writing, and policy drafting abilities. The work includes reviewing academic and policy sources, producing research notes, and developing a supervised research paper, policy brief, or analytical report.

Key responsibilities

• Study approved topics in policy, law, human rights, governance, or international relations by reviewing relevant literature.
• Write concise research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefings.
• Join online mentoring or supervision sessions when arranged.
• Prepare a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report with oversight.
• Improve written work based on feedback and academic standards.
• Meet assigned timelines while working remotely.
• Maintain ethical research practice, proper citation, originality, and academic integrity.

Eligibility criteria

This opportunity is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral students, as well as recent graduates, alumni of recognised universities, and early-career professionals who want to build experience in research and policy analysis. Suitable academic backgrounds include law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, and related disciplines.

Applicants should have strong written English, genuine interest in policy research and related subject areas, the ability to work independently in a remote setup, a habit of meeting deadlines, and openness to methodology-based guidance and supervisor feedback.

Training and selection notes

Previous publication experience is not required. Selected candidates will complete a four-week methodology training phase followed by a four-week research writing phase.
