Role Overview
The Planning Lead in Solar EPC undertakes the comprehensive management of project scheduling, construction progress tracking, billing oversight, and communication facilitation among clients, contractors, and internal teams. This role demands preparation of detailed reports, formulating recovery approaches for delays, and strict adherence to contract and quality standards while maintaining thorough documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee contractor construction schedules to ensure they align with project deadlines.
- Create and update weekly, monthly, and three-month look-ahead work programs along with recovery plans for any delays.
- Develop execution strategies and conduct plan versus actual progress analysis using project management tools such as S-Curves, Resource Curves, and variance reports.
- Track daily work progress, prepare detailed progress reporting, and coordinate with site engineers and contractors for updates.
- Conduct weekly plan versus actual comparisons and implement corrective actions as required.
- Review and process contractors' monthly running bills as per Service Orders and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Initiate monthly payment milestones, liaise with clients for payments, and manage reconciliations and royalty billing.
- Prepare material consumption reports, ensuring project budgets and schedules are adhered to.
- Maintain project documentation compliant with the Project Quality Plan, including managing Master Drawing Lists, engineering change controls, punchlists, and method statements.
- Control the flow and tracking of all project documents across departments.
- Prepare daily manpower reports, manpower histograms, and resource leveling plans; assign tasks to discipline engineers and monitor their progress daily.
- Maintain ongoing correspondence with clients, contractors, and the Head Office.
- Conduct meetings with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve constructability issues, close punch points, and address site-related concerns.
- Facilitate smooth project execution through effective coordination and ensure timely resolution of arising issues.
- Monitor activities related to acquiring Erection Completion Certificates (ECC), prepare and circulate Minutes of Meeting, and follow up on closing project punch points.
