Position Overview
Durham District School Board is looking for a permanent teacher to support a Grade 1/2 classroom in Whitby, Ontario. In this role, you will help build an engaging, encouraging, and inclusive learning space where students can succeed academically and personally.

Key Duties
- Plan and teach lessons that are lively, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with the curriculum.
- Track student learning and growth through assessment, observation, and ongoing feedback.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that is respectful, welcoming, and supportive of every learner.
- Work with fellow staff, families, and the broader community to strengthen student success.
- Adjust instruction, resources, and teaching strategies to meet varied student needs.
Qualifications and Role Details
- Primary qualifications are required.
- This is a 1.0 FTE assignment.
- The teaching assignment is for Grades 1 and 2.
- You must hold an Ontario College of Teachers certificate in good standing.
- Placement on the elementary permanent salary grid will be based on QECO rating and teaching experience, and pay will be adjusted pro-rata to match the FTE.
Additional Requirements
- A current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening must be provided after hire.
- External candidates may require up to 10 working days for processing, which may affect the start date.
