About the Role

Novotel Rotorua Lakeside and ibis Rotorua are seeking a dedicated People & Culture Manager to temporarily cover a maternity leave position. This fixed-term opportunity involves joining the leadership team of two esteemed hospitality brands within the global Accor network, located in Rotorua, New Zealand. The role requires close collaboration with the General Manager and Department Heads to ensure employees are supported, engaged, and motivated to provide exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full recruitment, onboarding processes, and workforce planning activities.
  • Offer guidance and advice on employment relations and HR matters to management.
  • Manage performance reviews, employee development, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support learning and development programs tailored for hotel staff.
  • Ensure strict adherence to New Zealand employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Maintain HR administration, reporting, and strategic workforce planning.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with Accor’s core values.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven background in Human Resources or People & Culture management roles.
  • In-depth understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and HR standards.
  • Experience in managing employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships across all organizational levels.
  • A proactive mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous hotel industry experience is highly advantageous.
