PDI Technician

Role overview

Robinson Trailers and Cranes is hiring a PDI Technician in Portlaoise, County Laois. This full-time onsite position is centered on pre-delivery checks for trailers and cranes, helping ensure each unit meets internal quality standards, customer expectations, and all applicable legal requirements.

What you'll do

• Perform pre-delivery inspections on trailers and cranes before handover.
• Spot faults, non-compliance issues, and other defects, then carry out the necessary fixes.
• Make sure products align with relevant legislation and industry requirements.
• Prepare and deliver customer handover sessions, explaining operation, safety features, and maintenance needs before collection.
• Share product or quality concerns with Assembly Team Leaders, the Production Manager, and the Engineering Department so improvements can be made on future builds.
• Work with the Production Manager to solve assembly-related issues and keep output at the required quality level.

Requirements

The role calls for prior experience as a technician, mechanic, or HGV mechanic, preferably with exposure to PDIs, servicing, assembly, or quality control. You should have strong mechanical understanding, be able to diagnose and resolve issues, and feel comfortable using tablets or other digital tools to log inspection and test results. Good communication, teamwork, independence, and the ability to prioritise work in a busy manufacturing setting are important, along with a strong eye for detail.

Pay and working pattern

The pay rate is €18.00 per hour, based on a 40-hour work week.
