Role overview
This is a permanent full-time payroll leadership opportunity with a community-oriented services organisation based in Bayswater, Victoria. The business is known for a supportive, people-first environment and places strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, development, and long-term career growth.
Compensation and work setup
The position offers a salary in the range of $100,000 to $120,000 plus superannuation and additional benefits. The role follows a hybrid arrangement, with three days working from home and two days in the office. Free onsite parking is available when attending the office.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you will be part of a collaborative payroll team of 10 and will help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across the business.
- Provide responsive, high-quality support to employees while maintaining strong service standards and payroll protocols.
- Safeguard payroll data accuracy and carry out thorough audit checks.
- Interpret and apply complex award conditions and enterprise agreement rules.
- Process new starters and employee terminations accurately.
- Handle day-to-day payroll enquiries and resolve queries efficiently.
- Support month-end and year-end payroll activities.
Candidate profile
The ideal person will bring solid payroll experience in a busy, complex environment and be comfortable working across multiple awards and high-volume employee populations.
- At least 5 years of payroll team experience.
- A strong service mindset with a focus on customer care.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience managing multi-award payroll processes.
- Background in a fast-paced and complex business environment with 6,000+ employees.
- Ability to work to deadlines and contribute effectively in a team setting.
- Hands-on experience with Dayforce.
