Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist role involves complete ownership of Aramya's monthly payroll cycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end monthly payroll processing covering attendance, leaves, overtime, incentives, and deductions.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll master data including new joiners, employee exits, salary changes, department transfers, and promotions.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries, full and final settlements, and reimbursements; coordinate with banking partners for payment processing.
  • Address employee queries regarding salaries, tax deductions, payslips, and Form 16 documentation.
  • Manage statutory compliance by overseeing timely remittances and filings for EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Gratuity, and Bonus Act.
  • Calculate and reconcile TDS on salaries; collaborate with Finance for Form 16 issuance, quarterly TDS filings, and year-end calculations.
  • Keep updated with changes in labor laws and tax regulations, adjusting processes accordingly.
  • Prepare payroll MIS, headcount cost reporting, salary registers, and variance analyses.
  • Support internal and statutory audits by providing detailed reconciliations and documentation.
  • Coordinate with HRMS and payroll software vendors for system enhancements, data accuracy, and automation improvements.
  • Maintain strict internal controls, uphold confidentiality of payroll data, and ensure robust payroll governance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 to 6 years of experience managing payroll for moderately large employee bases (500+ employees).
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related fields; MBA or PGDM with HR or Finance specialization preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Indian payroll laws including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Gratuity, and Bonus Act.
  • Proficiency with payroll or HRMS systems such as Keka, Darwinbox, GreytHR, SAP, or ADP.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel including use of VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas for reporting and reconciliations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in adherence to strict monthly deadlines, with a focus on error-free payroll management.
