Pathways Coordinator

About the Role

YMCA Queensland's Y Schools at the Senior Redlands Campus in Victoria Point is looking for a committed Pathways Coordinator to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. The coordinator will assist the Pathways Lead in facilitating vocational and education training initiatives designed for vulnerable youth. This includes managing the administrative tasks linked to Pathways programs, supervising how external providers deliver these programs, facilitating Pathways classes, and working closely with students both individually and in groups to promote their engagement and progress in the program.

Daily Responsibilities

• Lead job pathway activities and programs tailored for students.
• Assist in delivering vocational and wellbeing programs to students.
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with students to support their strengths, interests, passions, and wellbeing needs effectively through the programs.
• Collaborate with RTO trainers in the academic and wellbeing program delivery.
• Help students understand and use information critical for career development and job opportunities.
• Keep career development educational resources current and accurate.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a Certificate IV in Career Development or an equivalent qualification; alternatively, significant experience in Youth Work with progress toward such qualification.
• Holding or willingness to obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card.
• Possession of a National Police Check within the last 12 months.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Proven experience working with at-risk young people.
• Ability to provide personalized support and create action plans helping youth to explore opportunities and progress academically and vocationally.
• Up-to-date knowledge of labor market trends, employability skills, and job acquisition strategies with effective communication to youth.
